SUNRISE TALENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Sunrise Talent Development Program is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to enable the Toronto International Jamaica Day organization to focus on developing Canadian artists year-round. Through various showcases and educational workshops artists will learn stage presence and marketing with an emphasis on vocal performance. Artists will also be shown how to look for management and to create a business strategy. In 2011 for the first time we are excited that this event will be produced under the Sunrise umbrella.

SUNRISE T.D.P. GOALS ARE:
* Foster development of Canadian artists
* Support youth in pursuing their post-secondary education by sponsoring the Basil Duncan Memorial Scholarship
* Organize and sponsor a variety of cultural, educational and recreational events

Program Initiative – 21st Annual Jamaica Day Celebration

2011 marks the 21st anniversary of the event. Over the first 20 years, more than 200,000 fans of Reggae, Soca, R&B, Hip Hop and Gospel have enjoyed more than 250 Canadian and international artists. Jamaica Day has provided a platform for nearly 150 Canadian artists to be exposed to thousands of fans.
